Smartly integrating eKomi reviews into Magento Hyvä: the approach at Wink & See
Reviews are one of the most powerful trust signals in e-commerce, but only when implemented correctly. An empty star rating on a product or category page actually triggers distrust. Wink & See wanted to integrate eKomi widgets in multiple locations across the webshop, but exclusively in a way that builds trust and never at the expense of credibility.
Younify installed and configured the eKomi extension for both the Dutch and English stores of Wink & See. The widgets are set conditionally: stars and scores are only displayed on product and category pages when reviews are actually available. For new products without reviews, the widget remains hidden so that an empty score is never visible to the visitor. The widgets were styled in accordance with the Wink & See design and integrate seamlessly with the Hyvä frontend.
Wink & See displays reviews at the right time and in the right place. The eKomi score of 4.6 serves as a strong trust signal in the locations where it most influences the purchasing decision. The conditional logic ensures that empty widgets can never have the opposite effect.
