Managing product data at scale: Maxifleur’s Plytix PIM integration
Maxifleur has an extensive range of artificial plants, artificial flowers, and decorative accessories in multiple sizes, colors, and styles, spread across nine store views in different languages. Managing all this product data directly in Magento is not scalable. In practice, the Plytix importer that automated this process regularly encountered issues: stalled cron jobs, cron conflicts, duplicate images, and missing attributes for new product types. Every disruption meant outdated or incomplete product data in the webshop.
What is Plytix PIM? Plytix is a cloud-based Product Information Management system specifically designed for e-commerce. It enables teams to centrally manage all product data—titles, descriptions, attributes, images, and translated content—and automatically distribute it to linked sales channels such as Magento. For webshops with large, multilingual assortments, a PIM integration is the only scalable solution.
Younify analyzed and optimized the Plytix importer on multiple levels. Stalled imports were resolved by adjusting memory limits and timeouts and restructuring the import logic so that large batches are processed in splits. Cron conflicts were fixed by adding explicit locking, ensuring that two import processes can never run simultaneously.
For every new product requirement, such as additional attributes for new collections or Polish language data for the expansion into Poland, the importer configuration was expanded in close cooperation with the Maxifleur team. Additionally, an emergency stop mechanism was implemented, allowing the importer on the live server to be disabled immediately if problems are detected, without going through a full deployment cycle.
With the optimized Plytix integration, Maxifleur automatically synchronizes hundreds of product changes daily across all nine store views. The content team works exclusively in Plytix and does not need to access the Magento admin for product updates. This significantly shortens the time-to-market for new collections and eliminates the error margin of manual data entry.
