From slow to lightning fast: the complete Hyvä theme migration for HOBO hifi
HOBO hifi’s existing Magento 2 frontend, built on the classic Luma/Blank theme, caused long loading times, mediocre Core Web Vitals scores, and a mobile experience that did not match the brand’s positioning. LCP scores above 4 seconds and a Total Blocking Time that Google classified as ‘poor’ had a direct impact on organic visibility and the bounce rate of mobile visitors. Furthermore, the old theme made it difficult to translate the premium brand feel into the digital experience: animations, hover effects, and responsive layouts were hard to implement without further performance impact.
Younify rebuilt HOBO hifi’s entire frontend on the Hyvä theme, from the homepage and category pages to the product page, cart, checkout, and account pages. The mega menu was rebuilt using the Younify HyvaMegaMenu module, product sliders and banner blocks were integrated via the Younify Banner Slider module, and the store locator widget was given a prominent place on the homepage. Following the launch, an intensive bug-fixing round was conducted to address all UI inconsistencies, translations, and edge cases—a standard part of any major frontend migration.
Following the Hyvä migration, HOBO hifi’s LCP improved from over 4 seconds to under 2.5 seconds, the threshold Google considers ‘good’. The CLS score decreased significantly due to optimized lazy loading and explicit image dimensions. The mobile Google PageSpeed score rose from an average of 38 to 74. Organic traffic grew in the months following the migration thanks to improved Core Web Vitals. And perhaps more importantly: the webshop now looks exactly as HOBO hifi intended, with the premium character of the brands they sell truly reflected in the digital experience. View the results now.
